International Award for NCSM Director General

Mr Ingit Mukherjee, Director General of the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), India has been honoured with the coveted ‘Roy Shafer Leadership Award’ by the Association of Science & Technology Centres (ASTC) of the United States of America. Mr Mukherjee, the first Asian to receive this rare award has been chosen from among the professional leaders of the world for his exemplary leadership in establishing the Indian Science Centres as institutions of excellence in this field and for his support to the cause of non-formal science education in developing countries. NCSM has a network of 27 Science Centres throughout India.

The award has been presented to him recently at the ASTC Annual Conference in Philadelphia.
