Human Performance Gallery

Our body is a unique machine that, through practice and hard work, can be made to achieve excellence in human performances. The gallery on “Human Performance” at Bardhaman Science Centre depicts some interesting activities performed by the human being. With 30 interactive exhibits, the gallery opens an action-packed panorama on human endurance, human reflex, human agility and human capability.

Here, you can find out the parameters or scores of your performances ‘How long can you hang’, ‘Balance your body’, ‘How high can you jump’, ‘Bend your body’ etc. are some examples. Here you can check how well your brain co-ordinates with your sense organs. Hitting or shooting a target is very popular sporting activity involving human skill, which one can try in the exhibits ‘Hit the Gong’ and ‘Crack Shot’. There are a number of exhibits on human perception, namely, ‘Colour Memory’, ‘Tone Memory’, Match with the Metronome’, ‘Peripheral Vision’, ‘One-eyed Vision’, ‘Selective Hearing’ and many more. You can check if you have a good reflex, and whether you can promptly react to any event in the ‘Reaction Time’ exhibits. The gallery offers a lot of challenges and thrills that tempt one and all to take part in actions. The gallery was inaugurated and opened to public on 28 July, 2008.
